We Have a New Soil Mix This Year!

Peat bog soil mixed with Skyrocket, also known as Flower Bed Mix.
NOTE: This is not to be used on anything that you will be eating. There was so much demand last year that we made it a mix.

PEAT BOG SOIL – This soil contains no sand or clay, just pure black earth. Suitable for all plants and vegetables, such as tomatoes, celery, lettuce, peppers, carrots, herbs, etc. Fertilizers and composts can be added to this product to enhance growth.

60/40 GARDEN BLEND – Our best seller and premiere mix for plants, flowers or vegetables. This product contains 60% Peat Bog Soil and 40% Ocean Cycle Fish Compost. This product is ready for use. You can even do seed starts. 60/40 requires no fertilization for 2–3 years; just remember to water. Over-fertilizing this soil may be detrimental to your plants.

FLOWER BED MIX – This soil mixture contains 60% Peat Bog Soil and 40% Skyrocket, so the biggest thing is not to use it with anything you will be eating. This blend is a fantastic substitute for 60/40. It is very loose soil, and you don’t need to add anything to it. It is available at a lower cost and can be used on flowers, trees, shrubs and for perking up your lawn.

50/50 LAWN MIX – A mix of Sandy Top Soil and Peat Bog Soil for extra nutrition. This product is used for hand seeding your lawn or repairing a patchy lawn. Not suitable for Hydroseeding.

HYDROSEED MIX – For this product, you have to call ahead for mixing. Using a 60% blend of Bedding Sand with 40% Skyrocket, this product works well for Hydroseeding a lawn. Not suitable for hand seeding due to lack of organic material.

ANTON MIX – This product is more acidic than our 60/40. Anton Mix is great for berries, rhodoes, azaleas, most larger shrubs, trees and garlic. It is also great for new tree planting. This product was engineered by a local Horticulturalist teacher from North Island College as a more natural soil, comparable to what you would find if you were to go into the forest and obtain soil. It consists of an equal 3-part mix of Sandy Top Soil, Fine Black Bark and Oceancycle Fish Compost.

OCEANCYCLE FISH COMPOST – A high-end fish compost used for soil amendment. Certified organic by Rodale Organic Gardening and listed with OMRI for use in organic production. Enriched with Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorus, this product works well with most soils to add the basics that plants need to develop a symbiotic relationship with the soil. SKYROCKET – This product is developed by the Comox Valley Regional District. Skyrocket is a human waste compost that will do crazy things for your flowers. It is not recommended for edible plants and vegetables due to heavy metals, hormones, etc. Works great for flowers and greening up your lawn due to high nitrogen concentrations.
